Dear Conference Participant,

As you must know from the information already circulated, participants
must make their own bookings for accommodations in Reykjavik and Akureyri.
Accommodations at Hólar (6-7 August) are booked through the conference
organizers.

We are informed that the guesthouses in Akureyri listed on the “lodging”
page of the conference website are fully booked. You will need
accommodation in Akureyri for the nights of August 8th and 9th. If you
have not yet booked, you are urged to do so immediately!

The following Akureyri hotels and guesthouses may still have space
available (we don’t know). All on the list are suitably located. Hotel
Nordurland, being a hotel, will be appreciably more expensive than the
others.

We have not made any special arrangements with the establishments on this
list and do not have prices. We believe that all of them will offer
satisfactory accommodation, but we do not have direct experience of these
establishments, except Hotel Nordurland. The information and descriptions

The guesthouse has 19 rooms, it is a non smoking, family friendly
guesthouse, which offers a great variety of room types. There are single
and double rooms available both with and without WC/shower. Furthermore
there are triple and quadruple rooms available but they are all without
WC/shower. For the rooms without WC/shower, the facilities are just a few
steps away on each floor. All rooms are equipped with a multi channel TV
and most have a sink in the room.

This is a charming guesthouse situated in the heart of Akureyri within
walking distance from the town centre, local swimmingpool, minimarket and
other local attractions. The Guesthouse has 8 rooms. It was recently
completely renovated and now offers a friendly and quiet hospitality in
newly furnished rooms, all year around. The rooms are available with or
without bathrooms and access to fully equipped kitchen is available to all
our guests.

Hotel Apartments both provide apartments and guesthouse accommodation:
Apartments: Six 6 attractive apartments, all fully furnished and with TV.
There are 4 sizes available; studio, 1 two-roomed, 2 three-roomed and 2
four-roomed. In each apartment there are good cooking facilities equipped
with all cooking utensils, a stove with oven, a microwave etc.
Guesthouse: Six 6 rooms, all well equipped and with private bathroom, 21″
TV and an wireless connection to the Internet. There is also equipment for
guests to make their own breakfast. Note: The Guesthouse is located at
Brekkugata 4, 600 Akureyri.

Guesthouse Sulur

Guesthouse Sulur has accommodation in two buildings. In  Thórunnarstræti
93 and Klettastig 6.In Thórunnarstræti 93, which is open whole year,
accommodation is provided in 8 rooms, with beds for one up to four persons
and access to a kitchen. All rooms have TV and a wireless Internet
connection. Laundry facilities are available for all guests.

In Klettastig 6, which  is open from 1. June until 15. August, are three
“apartments”, all with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and a living
room with a TV. In each apartment there are beds for up to 10 persons,
suitable for individuals and small groups. Good handicap access. Laundry
facilities are available for all guests.
