IMAGES AND INTENTIONALITY
Centre for Time, University of Sydney
8th August
A conference on the interconnections between pictorial and mental
representation. This conference will address issues such as whether the
structure of thought is language-like or map-like, whether mental

perception and thought are like differences between depiction and
description and the debate over mental images.
Speakers and titles will be:
Tim Crane (UCL) “Picturing and Perceiving”
Michaelis Michael (UNSW) “Are Maps Truth-Apt?”
Ben Blumson (Sydney) “Pictures, Concepts and Contents”
Peter Slezak (UNSW) “Pictorialism and the “Phenomenological Fallacy”"
